In our in-house laundry and treatment department, we can subject labels and accessories to various aesthetic and technical processes, designed to harmonize with the finished garment or to achieve sophisticated visual effects.
Washes are particularly suitable for materials such as:
- leather and Viridis®, to achieve more natural or vintage effects
- Jacron and leather-effect synthetic materials, to enhance their texture
The main processes include:
- stone wash, for a distressed and irregular effect
- oil wash, ideal for a patinated and worn effect on leather
- dirtying treatments, for a rawer and more authentic aesthetic
- cold direct dyeing or with natural pigments
- other industrial machine treatments, developed upon request or for specific needs
These techniques can be applied directly to the label before it is attached to the garment, ensuring a controlled, consistent, and repeatable result.
Each wash is tested to ensure durability, graphic retention, and compatibility with the material, even in combination with printing or embossing.
Thanks to the in-house management of the entire process, we are able to offer maximum flexibility, both in the prototyping phase and for industrial production, ensuring visual uniformity and aesthetic consistency with the reference collection.
Jacron label with natural pomegranate dyeing
Natural dyeing
Authentic colors, natural ingredients, zero chemicals. Our natural dyeing is carried out just as it once was, using plant-based elements and traditional techniques to offer a truly sustainable, healthy alternative rich in history.
Panama Trimmings has developed the BIO-D Natural Dyeing project to bring ancient dyeing knowledge back to light, reinterpreting it in a modern and certifiable way.
The dyeing is performed with 100% natural ingredients — the same ones used for infusions and herbal teas — without heavy metals, chemical agents, or synthetic additives. Absurdly, the dye water could even be drunk: this demonstrates how clean, safe, and respectful the process is for both the skin and the environment.
Each shade is born from a botanical or food ingredient, each with its own history and beneficial properties:
- Elderberry – delicate shades between lavender pink and light gray
- Walnut shell – soft browns, used since colonial times
- Pomegranate peel – warm and golden yellows
- Madder root – intense oranges, bright reds, blood reds
To these are added two special ingredients:
- Cochineal – a natural dye of animal origin, obtained from small dried insects, which produces a brilliant and vivid red. Used since antiquity, it is fully compatible with the BIO-D method.
- Woad (Isatis tinctoria) – the plant from which natural indigo is obtained. Used since the times of the ancient Romans, it produces a deep and intense blue through a dedicated natural fermentation process.
BIO-D is ideal for Jacron labels, thanks to its ability to penetrate and enhance the natural fiber without altering its structure.
The process is carried out entirely in-house, with complete control over dye baths, compatibility with embossing and prints, and the possibility of testing on materials and finishes.
BIO-D is not just an aesthetic choice, but a cultural act. It is plant-based beauty, it is living color. It is true sustainability — visible, concrete, measurable.
